Shared Experimental Facilities - SEF
The type of facilities required to carry out the research at the boundaries of biology and physical sciences are complex and multifaceted. Our Shared Experimental Facilities, SEF, provide the means to perform such diverse and multidisciplinary research. Capabilities include: bacterial and phage growth, genetic engineering, peptide synthesis, functional and hybrid materials synthesis and conjugation, nanoinorganic materials synthesis and fabrication, molecular, structural, and functional characterization of materials. The SEF, brought together by the core faculty members of GEMSEC, is an unique set of 6 laboratories with focused expertise and instrumentation.
