5. Measuring Head Circumference: Quality
of Measurements
The tape should be
repositioned and the head circumference remeasured.
The measures should agree within 0.2 cm or 1/4 inch.
If the difference between the measures exceeds the tolerance limit, the
infant should be repositioned and remeasured a third time. The average
of the two measures in closest agreement is recorded.
