Katie Porter, JD, MPH

Katie Porter, JD, MPH is a Research Scientist at the Treuman Katz Center for Pediatric Bioethics and Palliative Care at Seattle Children’s Research Institute (SCRI). She is the Director of the Research Ethics Consultation Service through the University of Washington’s Institute of Translational Health Sciences and serves as Co-Chair of the national Clinical Research Ethics Consultation Collaborative. In addition, Ms. Porter teaches the Research Ethics and Regulation course through the Department of Bioethics and Humanities at the University of Washington. She is a member of the Seattle Children’s IRB and serves on the Research Anti-Racism Committee at SCRI. Her professional interests include research ethics and improvement of the informed consent process.
